Snowshoeing Trip in Sierra Nevada

Discover Sierra Nevada on foot over the snow, no skiing skills needed, from €45 per person: a standard guided group route or a private route for your own closed group, up to 6 people.

Snowshoeing

Sierra Nevada in winter, no skiing required

Snowshoeing is the simplest way to enjoy Sierra Nevada in winter without needing to ski. Walking over the snow, at your own pace, lets you reach high-mountain landscapes you can't get to any other way. It's not a technical skiing activity — it's a mountain experience, guided by Mulhacén Aventura, with over 25 years of experience in Sierra Nevada.

We offer two options: a standard route, shared with the day's other participants, and a private route, in a closed group of up to 6 people, only with whoever you choose.

Standard route

The standard snowshoeing route is a guided group trip through Sierra Nevada, designed to let you enjoy the snowy mountains with no previous experience or skiing skills needed. A professional guide stays with the whole trip, setting the group's pace.

The route can be either toward Borreguiles or the Fuente Alta Circuit (185 m of elevation gain). Mulhacén Aventura decides the route for each trip based on snow conditions and the group: if it's toward Borreguiles you need to buy the non-skier lift pass, and if it's the Fuente Alta Circuit you don't.

Private route

The private snowshoeing route is a closed group of up to 6 people: just your group, with no other participants sharing the trip. The price is a flat rate for the whole group, not per person. €250 covers up to 6 people, regardless of how many of you there are within that limit.

As with the standard route, the trip can be either toward Borreguiles or the Fuente Alta Circuit, as decided by Mulhacén Aventura based on snow conditions and the group. If the route is toward Borreguiles you need to buy the non-skier lift pass, and if it's the Fuente Alta Circuit you don't.

What's included

Both options, the standard route and the private route, include the same things.

  • Professional guide
  • Snowshoes and poles
  • Liability insurance
  • Photo report

Not included

  • Non-skier lift pass

The non-skier lift pass is only needed if that day's route is toward Borreguiles: in that case it's not included in the price and is paid separately by the customer. If the route is the Fuente Alta Circuit, no lift pass is needed.
